EXO’s repackaged XOXO album “Growl” is seeing major success, for both the Kiss and the Hug versions. On Hanteo’s Top 5 Weekly Albums chart, EXO’s Kiss version of “Growl” has taken 1st place while their Hug version has taken 2nd place. The album has sold a combined total of around 120,000 copies so far, with Kiss selling around 70,000 copies and Hug selling around 50,000 copies. Those sales numbers are extremely impressive for 1st week sales, especially for a relatively new group.
But EXO isn’t the only rookie group seeing success on Hanteo’s charts. B.A.P’s BADMAN, which was released a day after EXO’s repackaged album, is ranked #3 on Hanteo’s chart, and VIXX’s repackaged album Jekyll is ranked #4.
It’s great to see rookie groups seeing such huge success in the K-Pop industry, especially in this state of the Hallyu Wave. With extraordinary groups like EXO, B.A.P, VIXX, and Ladies’ Code hitting the scene, we may very well be looking at the next generation of K-Pop.
